Introduction

The Sentinel Cliffs tower over the Lifesong Channel, presenting sheer, rugged faces of gray and brown stone that have withstood the test of time and elements. These cliffs serve as a natural fortress, shielding Ironpeak Bastion and its denizens from the prying eyes and unwanted approaches from the sea.

Nestled at the base of these formidable cliffs is a small, inconspicuous dock, accessible only by water and mostly hidden from view by the overhanging rocks and occasional thick fog that blankets the channel. This dock serves as the starting point of a lesser-known tunnel that burrows directly into the heart of the cliffs. The tunnel ascends sharply from the water line, carved through the dense stone with remarkable dwarven engineering precision.

A sturdy mining cart track is laid along the length of this tunnel, facilitating the transport of goods, resources, and occasionally personnel between the dock and the bastion. The track rises steeply, echoing the harsh incline of the cliffs themselves, before finally leveling out as it reaches the loading bay of Ironpeak Bastion. This bay is crucial for the stronghold's supply chain, allowing for secure and discreet movement of supplies, especially in times of siege or harsh weather when the main gates are impractical for use.

The strategic placement of this tunnel and its integration with the bastion's infrastructure not only enhances the stronghold’s defensibility but also underscores the ingenuity and foresight of its dwarven architects.
